Recently I’ve been digging through my photo archives back to when I first started 4 wheeling at Uwharrie National Forest. There are hundreds of pictures from back then, but I’ll keep it brief for now and share a few and the stories of them as best I remember.
This is my friend Wes’s old jeep along with mine on our first offroad trip. We went one evening during the week, I think we had the trail system to ourselves. I took the opportunity to use Poser Rock as an RTI ramp.
Wes then decided to give it a shot. Stuffin’ 31s. We both learned that add-a-leaf does not equal add-a-flex.
Dutch John chillin’
Since I’ve posted a few pictures of this Jeep and will likely post more, I should mention that Wes named it Roach. I owned this Jeep for a few years before selling it to our friend Big Mike.
The fine folks in the Rover offered me champagne. Good on em’.
Being a nimrod and hitting my rear prop shaft on a rock. Thankfully no harm done.
Inspecting the prop shaft after being a nimrod.
Our friend Thomas getting off camber. This jeep, like all others pictured so far, is more heavily modified now a days.
A band of morons (joking, kinda). That’s me (Steven) on the far right, Rob in the middle, and Wes on the left.
My big homie Tyler on one of the muddiest days I’ve seen Uwharrie. He took several of the photos in this post. Later on, he bought an XJ that he took on a fantastic trip to Tennessee.
I’ve probably been stuck on this rock more than any other, and I couldn’t stop driving over it.
That’s all for now, stay tuned for more content. I’m brainstorming on some shop / vehicle build content, as well as travel, 4-wheeling, kayaking and who knows what else.
